What is this "Stirling"???
« on: July 23, 2007, 09:39:05 PM »
I've just heard mention in the "Which Raven model?" thread about a new Thorn that will soon be released called the Stirling. Apparently this is due to replace the Catalyst.

Anyone heard/know anything else? [?][?][?]

I spoke very briefly with the guys at SJS last week, and it seems the Catalyst is no longer available in my size, in black - unless I pay to have one of the red or blue frames stripped and re-painted, which adds another £100 to the cost, and another 2-3wks wait on top of the 3wks build-time. That's a bit of a bummer. However, the chap I spoke to did mention the Stirling, due to be released in September, which (I think he said) will replace both the Enduro and Catalyst. As Hamish said, it sounds a bit like a Catalyst but with bosses for disk brakes. £300 cheaper than the Catalyst, because it's made from different steel.

I wonder how much this one can carry... (So no more 853 mountain bike?)

Aaagh, and it's going to be relatively cheap too??? This makes the Nomad/Tour decision even harder!!!

Curse you, Thorn, for making such a range of tasty bikes! ;-)
