NOW RECRUITING! CYCLE KNOWLEDGE IS ESSENTIAL ALONG WITH A GOOD SENSE OF HUMOUR, COMPUTER AND PEOPLE SKILLS ALSO REQUIRED
 
Sales Assistant. We are looking for a sales assistant to join our bicycle parts sales team. The successful applicant will provide our customers with an exceptional standard of service over the phone, via email and face to face.

Taking orders from customers and offering technical advice; you will be working closely with the sales and dispatch teams. You will use our PC based stock system which means a good level of IT skill will be required.

You must be a good team player and be willing to quickly learn new skills, maintaining a high level of product knowledge. You should also be flexible yet assertive and possess a good sense of humour. Previous experience within the cycling industry or a keen interest in cycling would be desirable but is not essential. Salary will begin at a basic level of around £13,200 per annum; this is reviewed after 3 months.

Dan except for computer skills that job would be mine
i had to visit my doctor today for the usual check up.anyway as i was leaving he said Anthony can i ask your advice on something.
he wanted to buy a good bike but had no idea what to look for.well i told him all about Thorn bikes and the super service from SJS told him the bike he wanted was the audax.he was really interested so hopefully he will buy if he does that will be the third person or is it fourth i got to buy thorn bikes.

It does make me a bit concerned that their stock level system requires a good level of IT skills. Maybe their stock levels are all in machine code?

I'd ask Jags - maybe the role comes with a company bike?
