Heart Monitor & Cordless Computer
« on: September 16, 2007, 06:05:49 PM »
I have a Polar heart monitor with chest strap that transmits a signal to a wrist unit.  I also have a cordless Cateye cycle computer.  Every so often, the wrist unit of the heart monitor suggests my heart is 120% (impossibl!), and the Cateye's speedo fluctuates wildly even though I'm cycling at a consistent pace.  These two things sometimes but not always happen at the same time.

Is it possible the two systems are interfering with each other?  If so is there any way to prevent this?

Are the wrist unit and computer close together when you are holding the grips?

If so try moving the computer to the other side of the bars or swap wrists for the heart monitor.

I have an dynamo led front light and a cateye wireless computer which misbehaved. Moving the computer to about 5" away from the led front light sorted out the problem.

My cordless Cateye computer sometimes goes bonkers when going under power lines - telling me that I'm doing 70mph! Also it doesn't work at all when I have my GPS attached to my bike. So there are definite issues with the cordless units?
