lubricants and, um, non-lubricants

Every so often somebody mentions a particular lubricant (copper grease for example) which I don't own.  Also people sometimes mention non-lubricants (whatever the word is - adhesives?) to stop bolts coming  undone, such as loctite(?).  I've also heard different versions mentioned (F40, T1000, Mi5, ok I'm joking) which confuses me even more.

Could somebody please summarise the various sorts and their uses so I know what I need/don't need.

I'd like to know that things will come undone when necessary, but not before they're supposed to.

Copper grease - VERY useful.  It is used to stop part seizing or gauling (sp?)  together, it is not really a lubricant.  It is especial useful on thread parts.  Use it on all threaded parts that tightened down firmly. (e.g. nearly everything) - A small tube will last a long time.  

Loctite - sometimes useful there are 2 grades that are interest 222 and 242.  222 is a weaker, it is great on adjustment screws (eg brake spring adjustment).  
242 is a good bit stronger.  I tend not to use it much.  It is sometimes used instead of copper grease - especially on bottom brackets and chain ring bolts  (n.b. 243 is a oil tolerant version of 242)

As a general rule you should always use either copper grease or Loctite on ever bolt on the bike.  I favour copper grease - others differ.

I had never heard of copper grease before. Where do you buy it?

Car parts and servicing stores (Halfords in the UK) - you only need a small tube.
