Oh I agree, its great to see Simeon's rides back. I've already Google Earthed a ride this morning from his gps file. I'm not a great cake eater but some of Simeon's photos of the same....!

So my Raven sits awaitin', while I do get-ready jobs on my daughter's bikes. Could be worse, mind--New Brunswick, Nova Scotia & Prince Edward Island are due to get 35 - 50 cms today.)

Simeon has the magic, for sure. I love the bare tree.

It does takes me several hours playing with the photos in photo editor on computer before posting the photos on the website.
The photo editor software I use is Serif Photo plus x7 http://www.serif.com/photoplus/ (http://www.serif.com/photoplus/) where resize the photos and make few simple abjustments to improve the image and then use several photo plugins from Topaz labs http://www.topazlabs.com (http://www.topazlabs.com) and Filter Forge https://www.filterforge.com/ (https://www.filterforge.com/) to make the photo into bit of artwork.
Most photos can be improve by clicking the auto level and clarity abjustments in the photo editor but you do need good eye to take good photo in the first place.
The camera currently using is a Samsung WB200F.

That's my point. Like most skills, photography has two parts: talent and practice. No matter how successful you are at producing pleasing images, you'll get better with careful practice. Modern digital photography can be virtually completely created on a computer or in a camera. The key is knowing what works, what you're trying to achieve, how to get there and then applying patience and perseverance in equal measure.
You seem to have got it right, and you obviously enjoy it. Well done! ;)

John I took the photo of the Pennine Bridleway bridge mid afternoon but I think you get shadows on the bridge from late afternoon on wards until the sun sets at this time of the year.

Thanks Lewis, not flooded but no power, had to move out! Lots of damage to bridges including on the c2c route. Also the cycle bridge in Lancaster is closed. Real shame as would have been first good cycle day for a month. Hope Simeon is ok

I drew in my breath sharply in amazement when I realized that view from Arnside Knot is a single composition, Simeon. I first thought the top half was a panorama, notable, indeed stunning in its own right. But to have it merely as a detail in another composition takes the cake. The grain on the rails in the foreground with the detail in the deep, deep distance is by itself notable. This is one of your best in a whole row of remarkable photographs. Congratulations on maintaining such an extraordinary level of competence and art.

Lovely pictures Simeon. I like these effects you are using but as others have said, your composition is excellent. Shocking picture of Red Door cafe, hope they are all ok there as they have always been very friendly. I went to Conder Green yesterday but it was shut, which was a shame as the first cake on the Sunderland ride looked interesting! Will have to go to Sunderland again soon, last time coincided with some sort of fund raising event and scones were amazing. The ride back up the beach toward heysham is a bit rough by my standard though.
