Help! Wheel Remounting Problem
« on: July 11, 2014, 08:54:24 am »
Hi all,

My rear tire developed a sidewall crack and I decided to replace it. So, set the Rohloff gear to #14, took off the wheel, changed the tire, and found that I can't put the external gear box back on. Somehow, it's gone out of gear #14 just enough that it won't fit back on.

I've tried to push and pull on the two cables to see if I can adjust the female part enough to make a difference but no go.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

I find I often need to wiggle the shifter backwards and forwards a tiny amount, while pressing on the Ex Box. Not easy with short arms...

Sheesh!!! Thanks wheezy!!! Oh my *censored*! Yes, that is what I did last time too but I totally forgot today while wallowing in sweat, self pity and grease.

And, yes, now I remember the last time thinking the same thing as I was wiggling the shifter with the bike on the stand..."this is really tough with my short arms".  LOL!!!

Thanks! You saved my weekend riding plans!

Particularly if you have a tandem!
