Rohloffs in a range of colours

May have missed posts about this, but...

Looking at the Santos Bikes website (santosbikes.com) and they show Rohloff hubs in green, blue, orange, as well as the red. In the bike configuration section you can choose your hub in one of those colours. Can't see anything on the Rohloff site.

Raises some really tricky matching questions, fortunately Chris King make bottom brackets in a range of colours, http://chrisking.com/bottombrackets/bottom_bracket. Remember it is ok for a man to worry about colour matching as long as it is colours of hardware.

I had my suspicions about those Red Rohloffs already...

Hmmm, are fingernails hardware..? Tenuous.

The obvious thing to match is the front hub. Will Son dynamos come in green and orange? Chris King hubs do come in a range of shades. Nothing for it, that dynamo gets exiled to the shed and the front light has to be some rechargeable LED.

Yes and No!
They are doing custom colours, in New Zealand Chris has been looking into custom colour for any one after this it easy to do.
You have to get a Silver Rohloff hub and remove the insides, then send the shell off to have it Anodized to the colour you like.






Then its just a reassembly of your hub and away you go all cool

Very nice, Pete. I like the effect of the Rohloff laser-etched logo beneath the subsequent anodizing...sort of a "frost" effect.
