There's a local CTC touring group :)

I haven't got a chance to get with them yet, but weekly Sunday rides during most times of year.

If you're coming up ping me and we can maybe all go   :)

to be honest i dont fancy driving 70 miles and then jumping on a bike ,done it last year when i  drove to newry then cycled to newcastle in a blizzard  camped overnight at tollymore pk never again ,the drive cycle and camping nearly put me off touring for good.
so i'm waiting until the sun comes out before i venture up that way again .
providing of course the world doesn't end tomorrow. ;)

There's a route from Dublin to Belfast (somehow) which the Maracycle charity ride uses :)

I don't know if it's nice for touring, but I can ask the CTC boys and girls.

In theory a group ride meeting at Newry (el train) , then all tiddle up to Belfast on bikes, and then go up north for some lovely scenery and campsites.

Unless there's blizzards. Then it's bikes in train to Belfast and a pint with some pies and irish stew. Yum :)

I think we'll be okay, jags. I just heard from a friend in China where it's Friday already, and he's doing fine; world hasn't ended yet for him. Looks good for us. Whew.  :D

I always figured about that Mayan end-of-calendar... the world couldn't have ended at the same time/date/moment if one took time zones into account! Maybe they just forgot to re-order new calendars at the end of the year....

All the best,

Dan. (Who's hoping you're still "there" to read this...Mayan prophecy or no...)
