Dogs, kids, joggers = speed bumps to TD'ing...! ;D

I spent a good part of my undergraduate uni bike commuting years side-drafting city buses down Franklin Boulevard here in Eugene.

Best,

Dan. (...who, looking back, wonders at still Being Here)

I have to go back to Morocco again, I 1st was in Morocco in 1993 as a Back up Overland Driver/Cook (Cook?)
When I was there I was just thinking how cool it would be to Cycle Tour in my own time. :-)
A must watch..

Back in the day, I knew guys on already-fast 250 cc motorcycles who used to draft Greyhounds (the buses, not the dogs) to save gas -- they'd get 120 mpg at 65 - 70 mph, as those measures were in those days.  They'd just tick in behind the bus, a yard or two back of the bumper, away from the exhaust.  Don't know any of them now ...

Pete, do people queue in NZ to enter the annual Darwin awards?

J.

In the end, it's not going to matter how many breaths you took, but how many moments took your breath away.

Seeing the out takes at the end I'm not supprised that he had to have surgery on his back, though I'm not sure if it was before or after filming this. He's something else eh.

Hi All,
Here is a good short film made but Russ and Laura (http://pathlesspedaled.com/) when they cycle toured in New Zealand. The main thing is they got to talk to some of the people that got the NZ cycle trails going http://www.nzcycletrail.com/.
A must do (and the only way to see the NZ that I love) come on down to Godzone http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/God's_Own_Country.

Hi All!

Phil White of Cervélo explains how carbon fiber goes into making one of "those" frames, from the importance of directionality and layup to the differences that result from stiffness versus strength.
http://www.bicycling.com/video/what-carbon-fiber#/video/all/created/d/1?cm_mmc=Facebook-_-Bicycling-_-Content-Video-_-carbon-fiber
Thorns use steel, but on occasion, someone will fit a carbon fork, and it is interesting to see what goes into the science and mechanics behind it.

Best.

Dan.
