NSW cyclists; 2 hit-runs same day
« on: January 06, 2014, 06:34:29 pm »
Hi All, and especially to those living in New South Wales!

Just received word this morning a friend of a childhood friend has been struck by a hit-run driver and left by the roadside badly injured: http://m.smh.com.au/nsw/cyclist-58-in-hospital-after-hitandrun-helensburgh-crash-20140106-30cds.html

He's the second hit-run victim on the same day (6Jan): http://m.smh.com.au/nsw/second-cyclist-knocked-off-bike-in-hitandrun-20140106-30cy2.html

Might be worth keeping an eye out for a damaged truck and an older Ford Laser if you live in the areas (Kemps Creek well west of Sydney and then south down the coast at Helensburgh). Scary times, indeed.

Best,

Dan.

In more news, the police have traced the driver of the car, a 23 yo. woman

In NSW Brendn's Law has been introduced to try and combat the shocking and abhorrent tendency for drivers to run to avoid prosecution.
