Ah, but my next bike might be a Z-frame...take that hipsters! (win lottery first lol)  :P

Tx Dan as always very in-depth! The hipsters seem to like power grips, so there might be some user reports online.

I was tempted to get them for my fixie, but as it would just be for fashion (nothing like the re-assuring click, click of SPDs) and you can't keep up with fashion anyway...
Pedal to the metal! Wind, rain, hills, braking power permitting ;)

I have a pair of these for sale if anyone wants to give them a try.  £40 posted.

They are virtually brand new. I tried them for 12 miles but decided to stick with my SPD's. As advertised, they are light and the grippy stuff is really grippy, they are slightly revolutionary in appearance but didn't look out of the way on my Thorn Raven Tour. I had hoped that they would offer me the same benefits as SPD's but with a choice of footwear.
I have decided not to keep them as, after long term SPD use my pedalling style means that I tend to lose contact with them on the up-stroke.

This item has now been sold

I like 'em.  I prefer a big pedal.
The big advantage is that the studs don't rip ones calf !
