Thailand again
« on: February 02, 2025, 12:31:08 PM »
Back for a second time.
Only 4 weeks so after flying into Bangkok I took the train South. This allows me more time in the area I love.

Having trouble with resizing pictures.
It's partly the app, and my fat fingers.
Hence just 2 snaps.
One picture on the island of Koh Muk.
The duck is my granddaughters and they insisted he come with me to make sure I behave.
Second picture a random stop at roadside shop/ restaurant.
Hit and miss with the language issues. Here, the lady had enough English to joke with me. Not entirely sure what she said but all her friends laughed!

Onwards shortly towards Krabi.

Best

Thanks for sharing, Matt. You never cease to amaze: finding space on a bicycle tour for a rubber duck!

The yellow rubber duck was a good luck gift from my granddaughters.
I took pictures of it on my travels.
And it worked.
I had good luck all the way.

Really enjoyed your CGOAB travelogue Matt. Thanks for sharing; sounds like you’ve found your ideal winter home.

Re Hotel for arrival and departure: Would you use the same hotel again? Box storage is such a big plus. TIA.

Re Hotel for arrival and departure: Would you use the same hotel again? Box storage is such a big plus. TIA.

Hotel was pretty basic and not especially cheap but the staff were good and did indeed keep my box safe. I had allowed 2+ days in Bangkok before my flight home, in case I needed to search out a new box.
Other folks on Crazy Guy had big problems searching out a new box so I wasn't looking forward to that task if it had gone AWOL.
Also, I had heard that some hotels charge for storage.

So on balance - yes, I would use the hotel again.
Near China Town as well, which was fun. And a wee shop next to the hotel had a selection of wide tape for resealing the box.

Let me know if you need any other advice.

Best Matt
