So I’ve finally decided to sell my beloved Nomad, “The Beast”. It truly is an exceptional bike and our relationship really blossomed into one of huge respect and affection. This the best touring and expedition bike you can buy!
This bike was bought for a specific long distance trip which was truncated then eventually abandoned due to my partner becoming ill. It’s never really been used since which is a shame. The huge potential these bikes are designed for is wasted and its now only seeing the light of day for a rare wipe with a cloth and returned to the outside bike shed. A bike like this deserves to be ridden – a lot - and used for what it’s designed for.
The condition of the bike is very good and that there are no faults with the bike at all. I swapped out the initial chainring for an easier 38T (from SJS) but have the original which is in as new condition. Also, the original Schwalbe Duremes have been replaced with Schwalbe Marathon Plus tyres which are in great nick. The Rohloff oil has been changed as recommended. Cinq, Edelux and Son components all in perfect working order. The chain was replaced 400 miles ago. I touched up the inevitable paint chips and scratches with enamel paint and the only “issue” was that the back end of the rear rack was bent slightly in transit courtesy of Alitalia. I straightened it and it works perfectly. (See photos) I’ve included the full spec below and as you’ll see, I went for the Full Monty.
Also comes with new replacement brake cables and Rohloff gear cables still unopened in original packaging and four new blue Swisstop brake pads. PLEASE NOTE: I WILL NOT be including the Brooks saddle as it’s far too molded to my particular derriere. I can probably find another saddle from somewhere but expect the buyer will want to use their own. The original front racks have now been reattached.
