Yes, it was me. In a follow up email query about them Ed also suggested that if I am used to the Rohloff shifter on my Sterling I might consider twist shifters for the Dawes. I'm looking into that possibility too.

Twist shifters it will be. After a lot of thought I couldn't justify the heavy expense of an electronic system for this bike which, these days is my backup ride. My local bike guy had a pair of twist shifters in stock and I had a look at them. Not too dissimilar to the Rohloff shifter on my Sterling so I decided on them. I found a pair if XT brake levers at a good price elsewhere and got some Ergon GP5 grips the same as I have on the Sterling. It's all with the local guy who will set it up for me. He's a farmer as well and busy planting potatoes but hopefully I'll have it back all done next week sometime.
