Banned from bike for 4 weeks
« on: March 02, 2017, 03:23:20 pm »
Just returned from an emergency appendix removal and have been advised no riding for 4 weeks.   :(

Could be worse I suppose, it could have happened in the summer holidays. I guess I can catch up on watching all the  recommended cycle videos on here instead and just drool and think I am staying fit. At least I won't be working 60 hours a week for a while.   :)

 :o My goodness!

Very glad this is behind you rather than ahead, and you've come through it!

Yes...this would be an awful thing to have happen while on tour. So sorry it happened, but probably good it happened before good weather arrives.

Wishing you a speedy recovery and full return to good health soonest. May those 4 weeks fly past quickly!

All the best,

Dan.

Wishing you a speedy recovery. Your lovely Sherpa will be waiting for you once you're fit again.

Thanks for all your best wishes.

Just a little reminder of what could be round the corner for any of us and to make the most of each day I guess.

my back is in agony when  the going gets tough  hills :o

only saving grace, im in as much pain  off the bike as i am on it  so might as well keep cycling.

One morning many years ago I got on the train at my local station going to work. I was feeling  fine, within 30 mins I was incapicated in agony and off in an ambulance.  Kidney stones  worse than childbirth. Hate to think what would have happened if I had been  somewhere remote.

Get well so Jackie and come out fighting in April. You can look for your camera USB cable when you run out of things to do.

Best wishes, Jackie. Hope you're fully recovered -- and after your month off, you'll enjoy riding in the spring all that much more :-)

In my part of the world, most people do not have studded tires and stay off of a bike for four or five months.

A couple years ago the surgeon that tried to fix my shoulder insisted that I stay off of the bike for six months.  Four of those months were excellent cycling weather.

So, look at the bright side, four weeks is not so bad.

Just put your bike somewhere where you can see it and dream. Get well soon.

Yikes
Sorry to hear your news
When I read the headline I thought you may have been caught using your phone while riding!
