Hi Matt,

Yep the GPS is a Garmin gpsmap 64s. I like it because it will take its fare share of knocks has a slightly bigger screen than the etrex.
I tend to power it with the e-werk cash battery but can usually get two days cycling out of a set of rechargeable AA batteries.

Yes - screen size is important.
I went for the etrex20x and it's just about Ok for my eye sight.
I felt the extra size of the 64 went against it - for my own personal use - but I very much liked what it can do.
I've yet to use it on tour but enjoy Geocashing with it and seeing the stats it pours out for rides.

Christened Him today by changing my big monthly supermarket shop to click & collect.

Then took a deliberate hilly detour on the way home.

A Nomad and a Mercury! I'm jealous. I have a yellow Nomad like yours, and if I got a second bike, it would probably be a Mercury. Congratulations on two fine bikes.

I purchased a 550L Mercury in 2015. My height is 1750mm with a BFSO of 850mm. I test rode the 550L and the 580L. In my case the 550L was the correct size as recommended by Andy B. The stand over height on the 580L was just a bit to tight for comfort. The 550L frame gave an exposed seatpost length of 185mm which, with the carbon seatpost fitted, gives a very comfortable ride.
