We are the happy owners of a Thorn Voyager S&S adult child tandem.
Last year we took trains from Liverpool to Lausanne and then from Zurich to Liverpool with 4 bikes, 2 trailers and 3 kids. (via Paris and London)
This year we want to get from Liverpool to St Moritz then back from Passau or there a bouts (via London and Brussles). We intend to have the S&S tandem and 3 other bike, no trailers and 3 kids with us grown-ups.
Last year went surprisingly well. We only had one difficulty with a lady at Gare du Nord but other than that people were very helpful.
Tandems seem to be a bit of an issue with trains, we were hoping we could decouple and blag it if here were difficulties, relying on tired and pathetic looking children to smooth out any untoward pedantry.
Anyone out there had any experience of similar.
The idea is: Liverpool-London-Brussles:(overnight) Brussles-Basel (overnight): Basel-Chur-St Moritz.
Then Passau (or Simbach)-Munich-Paris (sleeper) home via Paris-London.
ANy help gladly revived….
