I do wish we had more of an "active presence" on the list among derailleur Thornies. Thorn was at the forefront in embracing the Rohloff drivetrain and had one of the first fully-realized multiple-product lines geared (sorry!) to the hub (using hub-specific frames so the whole worked as a system), but those derailleur bikes are really something
also. I'd love to read and hear more about how they handle, what they feel like, and general owner/rider impressions. The Audax, Club Tour, Sherpa, and Trident triplet are the last of the derailleur bikes in the current lineup...but they account for 50% of Thorn's offered models (the Mercury, Raven, Nomad, and Raven Twin are all Rohloff bikes).
Then, there's all the derailleur models we no longer see except on the used market: Original Nomad (Mk1 n retrospect), Original Sherpa (and then Mk2), xTc, Commutour, eXp, original Audax (Audax Classic), Audax 853, CycloSportif, Brevet, Brevet Conical, and Ripio MTB. Whew! I may have missed a few in there, and there's always the SJSC-branded road bikes that were not Thorns but were sold by SJSC as low-cost high-value alternatives in limited supply.
For that matter, there's a number of discontinued Rohloff Thorns I'd love to hear about from owners -- the Sterling, the Rohloff eXp, the eXp R, the eXXp, the original Raven Nomad S&S, the Raven City Slicker, Raven Sport Tour S&S (! from July 2008), the Raven Catalyst, the Raven Enduro, and any of the Mercurys (which are still with us but we don't hear about very often) and all the tandems and triplets of either flavor including the Dynamic child-back tandem.
I love my Rohloff-equipped Nomad Mk2...but I also love my derailleur singles and tandem -- they're all good for their intended purposes!
