Which Ortlieb Ultimate 5 Compact Bag?
« on: April 09, 2013, 11:00:27 AM »
I'm about to order a Small Barbag  :o

I know which bag but can not work out which one to order a Ortlieb Ultimate 5 Compact Classic Barbag - 2.7Ltr   or a Ortlieb Ultimate 5 Compact Plus Barbag - 2.7Ltr

Why this bag? well i'm running Jeff Jones Loop H Bars and this bag will fit into the mid of my loop bars, i'm going to remove the mounting plate off the bag and make up some new mounts to fit my Bars.

I know the "Plus" is PVC free but is this all?

I have the plus back panniers and the plus ultimate5 (non-compact) handlebar bag. The material is a little lighter than the classic PVC one, which makes a difference for the panniers, but probably not really for such a small item. The full size handlebar bag also comes with two side pockets, unlike the classic version, but I don't think that's the case with the compact one. I haven't looked into prices, but "PVC-free" might well be the main selling point here.

Hi Pete!

These discussions may be of particular interest in making your selection, as they discuss materials and properties:
