As it happens, these things have a way of balancing out over time; the helped become the helpers.
We've all been "starters" at some point, then "got good" by various means, mostly by experience.
The best way I can suggest to help at all levels of expertise is to be supportive of others, to answer what questions you can, and to put yourself in the other person's place. You've done all three nicely with this one post and offer!
