4th issue of _Bicycle Traveler Magazine_ available
« on: November 18, 2012, 04:24:15 PM »
Hi All,

Grace Johnson has just released the *fourth* issue of Bicycle Traveler Magazine. She and her photographer husband/touring partner, Paul Jeurissen, have been traveling the globe for some time now, and are well known in The Netherlands for their photo-essays: http://www.bicyclingaroundtheworld.nl/home.html Grace is now often recognized as "The Woman in Red" for her distinctive red jersey, often appearing in Paul's distance shots: www.adventurecycling.org/resources/200909_WomanInRed_Jeurisse.pdf

This fourth issue of her magazine is available here in PDF form:
http://bicycletraveler.bicyclingaroundtheworld.nl/current-issue.html

Subscriptions are free for registering, and it is scheduled for thrice-yearly publication/download.  I think she's done a fantastic job, and I am inspired by her efforts to solicit articles and coordinate and publish while on the road herself. I have posted about this in the past and though members might find this newest issue equally enjoyable.

For those interested in a bit of background on Grace and Paul, here is their blog: http://www.bicyclingaroundtheworld.com
Facebook site: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Paul-Jeurissen-Bicycle-Photography/113356555398809

Another wonderful effort, as always. This issue includes...
= An article by Cass Gilbert on Cycling the Americas
= An interview with (the late) Ian Hibell
= Kees Swart's photography of the French Alps

And these article titles...
= Cycling the Dempster (Highway, Alaska)
= Slow Boat to Borneo
= Ten Bicycle Touring Commandments

And the usual exquisite photography, including shots of a unique bicycle repaint. The issue wraps up with some equipment reviews.

She's also offering a free downloadable e-book on the essentials of bicycle photography:

This ought to keep us going with tour plans as the dark days of winter draw nigh and we all dream of better days, filled with...Adventure!

Best,

Dan.
