I got a used dynamo front wheel on Alex Rim with Shimano Dynohub for £23.

But I am just a cheap skate  ;D

Weight training works really well for body recompositioning. Kettlebells, bodypump the works. Won't make you lighter, will shrink the belly.

Most important though:
Eat health food you LIKE (I can't abide salads in this climate)
Exercise with things you LIKE (I don't like going slow so I interval train)
And if that doesn't work for something you need to do find an exercise buddy :)
my son's friend is a personal trainer last year i felt like i should have a go at the kettle bell training felt great doing it but i could not move for three days after it jeez they nearly killed me  :'( so i ain't going down that road again, guess i had better take up Dan's offer a tour with him next year  ;) yeah right i'm a fair weather touring cyclest these days thank you very much but sure would love to see Dan's back yard could make for a very interistingtour. ;)

Nothing wrong with that, except the extreme and immediate danger of more weight gain from ready access to good meals and the kitchen. It might become the "gain-a-pound-a-day-Tour". It has happened to past guests.

I do know it'd be a lot of fun no matter how short or far.

yes i can believe that Dan we would have some craic.
ah maybe one day btw your always welcome at  my pad ,
not to sure about the cooking but guaranteed loads of tea/coffee ;D ;D
and we could always cycle to Andre's house should be good if you two get together. ;)
