Shimano Deore V-brakes & levers
« on: August 03, 2024, 05:48:18 PM »
Recently got myself a thorn raven tour, but unfortunately the original brakes were replaced with an underwhelming set from Clark's.

If anyone has a set of Deore or Deore XT v-brakes and levers going spare do let me know.

Additionally in need of a rear rack too (unsure if to make a new post for this so keeping them together for the time being)

Thanks :)

Just an FYI, I have Tektro brakes on most of my bikes where I bought the rim brakes that are fitted.  Quite happy with them.  But with most new bikes being fitted with disc, it is getting harder to find rim brake components, thus you might have to search harder to find what you want.

Good luck.

Congrats on the Raven, may it take you far.
Sorry, I have no spare brakes to help you with, good luck finding what you want, though in the past I've got on fine with Clarkes, not top end finish or smoothest, but as good as any others for stopping (With the same pads and cables).  I like the XT's though, there's a noticeable improvement in feel, even if they stop you no sooner.  The Deore that came on my Raven were on a par with the Avid and Tektro brakes I've had.
