It is so interesting to read this "time capsule", 8 years hence (which is 56 dog years and a bit longer in bicycle years, I'd say)
At this point in time I'm having a hard time finding a 26" tyre and rim combo, to continue on in 26" tubeless, but they are everywhere in quality combinations for 650B, as long as one is set up for disk brakes.
How spooky to see how Dan was so spot on in his reasoning and fears.
bicycle fads rotate like a very large diameter tyre, I guess, so it takes half a lifetime to start to see the same spokes go by, but then one notices, with alarm, that there are no brakes to be applied to stop the round, and round silliness.
