Thorn Nomad Mk2 for sale - SOLD

FOR GENUINE HEALTH REASONS, I AM SELLING MY WELL-LOVED AND CARED-FOR THORN NOMAD TOURING BIKE.
THE SPECIFICATION IS SUPERB INCLUDING THE FAMOUS 14 SPEED ROHLOFF 500/14 HUB; FRONT AND REAR FACTORY-FITTED ORTLIEB PANNIER RACKS; SCHWALBE MARATHON TYRES ON 26″ WHEELS; SHIMANO SAINT FLAT PEDALS; SHIMANO DEORE BRAKES, AND A LEATHER BROOKS SADDLE.
THE FRAME SIZE IS 565L, WHICH ACCORDING TO THE THORN WEBSITE, IS SUITABLE FOR CYCLISTS WITH A HEIGHT BETWEEN 175CM AND 188.5CM (APPROX 5’8″ TO 6’2″).
I BOUGHT THE BIKE BRAND NEW FROM SJS CYCLES IN BRIDGWATER IN LATE 2013. SINCE NEW, IT HAS BEEN REGULARLY SERVICED AND HAS HAD 3 OIL CHANGES TO THE HUB. I WOULD ESTIMATE THE MILEAGE TO BE ABOUT 2000 ONLY AS I HAVE DONE JUST 4 BIG TRIPS OF 800, 300, 200, 450 PLUS A FEW LOCAL TRIPS OF 10-20 MILES.
I HAVE A TOW-BAR MOUNTED BIKE RACK AND DEPENDING ON LOCATION IN UK, IT MIGHT BE POSSIBLE TO DELIVER.
THE PRICE IS £2100. I ESTIMATE THE SAME SPEC BIKE NEW TODAY TO BE IN EXCESS OF £3000.

I might be interested. I live in South Africa and would need to calculate shipping. What weight and dimensions would you be able to pack this into so that can source a quotation?

Hi Eddie,
When I took delivery from Thorn, the box used was a standard cycle reinforced box and I believe the weight is about 20Kg. The only two things that had to be done for packing was the handlebar turned sideways and the pedals removed.
For your info, I have had other enquiries via my email address which I included in the advert.
On Monday, I will make some enquiries at this end regarding the cost of delivery.

Hi All,
Could somebody recommend a parcel company for bicycle shipment outside the U.K.?
I google "parcel monkey" which is a comparison website and it came up with prices for South Africa around £100 to £250 and for Iceland for around £90 to £150. I recognised some of the carriers such as TNT and DPD but has anybody got any experience - good or bad?
