So is anyone using a trigger shifter instead of the twist shifter? I would like to hear about your experience.

Hi Thomas!
The Forum archives are your friend -- in early 2015, I did an extensive test of Cinq5's (Tour Terrain's) trigger shifters, published here:
http://thorncyclesforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=10585.0
Unfortunately, the uploaded photos I attached to the article seem to have become corrupted on the server, but the text and discussion are fully intact.
Best,
Dan.

Dan, I read the "back issues"! Thanks!!
A side bar question. I think I read somewhere about converting a Sram trigger shifter?

Yes! You can use SRAM TRIGGER shifters as a flat-bar Rohloff shifting option provided they are paired with a Gebla external Rohbox shift-box.

A variety of (modified) drop-bar "brifters" can be matched with the Rohbox as well.
All the best,
Dan.
