Bikes that carry.

Picture the scene.
First day at the new school and i'm in love.
Not really your yummy mummy more like yummy dummy.
I've seen it from afar on the bike path but never close up and i've got to admit i'm smitten.
Now it was fine when we just had one but now we've got two and the Sterling and Weehoo Venture rig is just to cumbersome for the school run and can only carry kids and not much else.
And boy the Big dummy could do with a Rohloff. (I know it can but still needs a bit of jiggery pokery)
Which got me thinking.
Thorn make long bikes (tandems.)
Thorn make strong bikes.
Thorn make bikes that carry heavy loads.
Thorn make bikes perfect for the Rohloff.
And they make lovely bikes. My Sterling in particular.

So before I send my hard earned cash over the pond to Uncle Sam shall I wait a while. Surely there must be interest for a British longtail cargo bike to take the yanks on at their own game.

Not from us i'm afraid.

Now MY personal opinion/thoughts for what they are worth. I rode one at a bike show a few years ago, it felt horrible like riding through custard with a flat back tyre, it was also the most unwieldy bike I had ever ridden - this sort of put me off.
