On my Sunday ride in Melbourne Australia last week I met a bloke on a Mercury.
Grey paint with red anodised Rohloff and front dynohub and set up as a flat bar.
Magnificent! I have got to have one of those!

Fabulous, Mike!
Bike and pilot look terrific. So looking forward to some gallery pics as you pile on the distance and some ride reports as well!
All congratulation!
Best,
Dan.

Mike,

Steve
Last Sunday we rode 50km on Melbourne Bike paths.
Today we went up one of our local hills.
We took the back road wich is unmade for most of its distance of 26km but the grades are not as extreme as the main tourist rd (see link) which we rode down.
The gears were fine for the up and I got down to #5 on a couple of pitches.
Going back down the main road I was spinning out at 45kmh (about 100 gear inches on 43X17 so I just sat back and enjoyed the long sweeping bends.
We climbed just over 1,000 vertical metres. The bike handled the bends beautifully and I am enjoying the ride.
