52-54cm bike frame
« on: July 18, 2014, 08:04:36 PM »
Hi,

I'm looking for a bit of a project bike. I want to build up a bike for a friend, she's 5ft 6in so a frame around 52-54cm should work I think. So if anyone's got an old steel frame suitable for building into a touring bike please get in touch. I'd also be interested in good quality strong wheels.

Thanks

Thanks Jags, wouldn't that be a bit small for someone of 5ft 6"?? Also it's probably a bit outside my price range, although it does look very good.

i reckon that would be spot on.i  would make him an offer .

find out if he left the bottom bracket and headset in all the better if he did.

jags

Just check the top tube length. As it is a Long frame (512L) it is intended for straight bars. If your friend prefers drops then she may be too stretched out for comfort.

You've probably thought of this already - but just in case.....

I think it'd be fine as she's never used drops before... but thanks for that tip!

Actually looking for something more like 48-52cm, or 19". Interested in just the frame (and maybe a few other bits)

Thanks
