a nice sunny dry day
It was a good day - warm enough for damp shoes to dry quickly, though the water turned out to be all of ~100mm deep. Rather like being 10 again ;-)
We are quite fortunate here to have a few local National Trust properties we can use as 'cake stops' on rides. The NT have asked British Cycling to put together some guidance via the SkyRide setup to get more people cycling to their sites so I have volunteered to get involved along with a couple of the other local SkyRide leaders. Waddesdon is probably too far but Coughton Court, Baddesley Clinton and Charlecote are all close by. I recommend Hidcote Manor Garden for anyone touring in the area, it is at the top of a hill, very close to the highest point in Warwickshire, but the inevitable downhill after the cake stop will be welcome. It is just to the North of Chipping Campden in the Cotswolds.
Thanks for the comments re the photos, they are both taken with reasonable cameras.
The one of Waddesdon was taken with a polarising filter for the sky and has some (possibly too much) sharpening. It's an old Cannon 350 with a Tamron Lens.
The ford shot was taken with a Cannon IXUS compact.
In truth, I'm not much of a photographer. Gill is far better at the composition aspects and uses photos as painting starters. I tend to stand where she does and take the same shot.
A couple of our friends are 'real' photographers, they both say that once you have the moment and the composition sorted out, it is mostly about the lens ... just don't get either of them started on 'iPad' or mobile phone photographs ;-)
