Neil's RST
« on: August 20, 2013, 11:09:57 am »
Thought I'd post a photo of my pride and joy outside possibly the smallest church in Great Britain. It's called St.Trillo's Chapel and is located on the North Wales Coastpath in Rhos-on-Sea. It has 6 small seats inside and still holds regular services today.

Hi Neil!

My! What a lovely photo of a fantastic bike and beautiful setting -- would make a brochure cover shot.

Easily one of the most attractive bikes I've seen!

Best,

Dan.

Thanks everyone for the positive comments, much appreciated.
Yes the Carradice Rackpack has been used almost daily for the best part of 10 years now. I reproof it every and it's never leaked once, even here in rainy North Wales.
I noticed Robbie that you are from Lancashire, I don't know if you're a cricket fan but the chapel is just down the road from Colwyn Bay's ground where Glamorgan entertain Lancashire on a fairly regular basis. Maybe you could kill two birds with one stone?
Hi Gareth, nice to hear from a fellow Welshman, I've never seen another Thorn in the flesh, what region of Wales are you from?
Finally thanks once again to Dan for pointing me in the right direction regarding posting the photo and the kind words. Hopefully I'll be able to post more photos now that I'm familiar with the technical side at last.
Cheers,
Neil.

Nice picture. Please post more. I have a black Raven.
Do I see a front light? Dynamo?
Info please. I have the dynamo but have not hooked up a light yet.
Thanks again.
Matt

( not wishing to split this thread onto churches, but if that floats your boat, I came across a wee circular church on Islay )

Its a beezer ! Front light looks like an edelux.
Looks very like mine, but nice and tidy with the flat bars. I prefer drops but the flat bars look really nice and tidy.
Is it a dynamo rear light ? Type ?
How do you find the css rims and front brake behind the forks ?

Hi Neil
Not a thoroughbred Welshman - just half Welsh (Tonna, nr Neath)- now living in London.
More Welsh pics of course very welcome!

Thanks for the comments Neil. Yep, I'm from Lancashire or West Lancashire to be precise.

Just looked on GM and I can see the cricket club you mention - don't believe I'll get a game in though as it's not really my scene but you never know.

Hi Jags, I've walked the Anglesey, Llyn Peninsula and parts of the Pembrokeshire Coastpaths and all are beautiful. I would probably follow the east coast of Anglesey (inland is a bit bleak), onto the mainland and work your way down the west coast of Wales and see how far you get before you think you need to turn back. Alternatively you could head into Snowdonia from Anglesey if you feel fit enough. September would be a good time to go as it can get really busy with tourists during the school holidays.
Well spotted, it is an Edeluxe and really pleased I am with it too. My rear dynamo light is a B&M D Toplight Plus which I supplement with a flashing led attached to the loop on my rack pack.
Oh well Gareth look on the bright side, at least you don't have so many hills to climb in London.
One of the hardest decisions I had to make when ordering my bike was whether to go for drops or straights, both have their merits but at the time I suffered from a bad neck so decided on a straight bar setup, my neck is ok now so maybe it helped although I think it I was to buy another Thorn in the future I may well opt for drops.
Thanks again for your comments,
Neil.
