Here is my newly built Thorn Raven Enduro 853 with Rohloff 14 Hub. Can't see me ever touring on it as the misses is not keen so I'll stick to MTB! I have upgraded the forks to Pace RC31's as I was told they would be better than suspension forks for touring.
Also the rear hub and seat have just come back from Bristol bespoked as they were on a show bike there -http://titchmarshcycles.com/portfolio/the-scorpion-cargo-bike/

Frame No - 565MXL4042
Designed to accept the Rohloff 14 speed internal hub gear. Eccentric bottom bracket for chain adjustment and Rohloff specific dropouts (no torque arm required, so rear wheel removal takes seconds!).

Tig welded 853 conical frame with lightweight 725 stays. Fitted with FSA headset, with bosses for brake lines and outer gear runs, ISO rear disc, 2 x bottles, crud guard, and mini tubular cro mo rear carrier. Rohloff EX cable box hub, fittings for a mini rear carrier and our own cast stainless socketed drop outs.
INCLUDES:, 1 1/8 (28.6mm) Orbit XL2 threadless headset, 27.2mm alloy micro adjust seatpin.

Size Large, seat tube 432mm (C to C) 482mm (C to top), 625mm virtual top tube. Taller men (very tall women?) 5'11" to 6'3"

My! What a pretty build, Emaroid...even have a <sigh> Hebie Chainglider.

I remember you were thinking of selling back in February; sorry circumstances are such you won't be touring on it, but there's lots of great rides still available on the MTB and that might still be pressed into service for the occasional S240 (sub-24 hour overnighter) with a small day pack or by strapping stuff sacks to the frame and seatpost.

Best of luck on the sale and a tip of the hat to you for a very nice build -- it'll make a wonderful ride for someone!

Best,

Dan.

Now that does look a real joy. Just ready for the summer that is surely upon us here in the UK  ;)

Noting that the frame number is 565MXL4042 does that mean it is a 565M size? Possibly with some additionally sizing info' to be drawn from 'XL'?

Yes she is a purdy bike and has been a joy to build up too. Yes feb wasn't a good time to sell a bike, only changed the forks after a discussion with my father in law who suggested swapping out the new forks on my commuting singlespeed. Honestly I'm a touring virgin and thorn newbie so to answer the question about the frame size I can only go off the measurements that I've added and the reply emails from sjs, hope they help?
I like probably most on here have too many bikes and seen as touring will be a long shot its the least used bike, so better off someone getting the use out of it.

I'm stunned it hasn't sold already!

Maybe this will help people become a bit more familiar with the basic bike and all it has to offer:

Yours has been beautifully spec'd and assembled, and even includes some really desirable extras.

All good luck, Emaroid.

Dan.

I imagine that the only reason this has not sold is its size. Its for a 'bigger person' and sadly, as previous correspondents will know, my session on the SJS Leg extension rack proved a dismal failure. So, it remains too big for I.

Just a thought though: Is it worth posting another photo showing the Enduro in full on a horizontal plane? Visualizing a bike's size can be a great help to some.

Yes it is for the taller riders and it's a good suggestion to get a side view, hopefully the weather will be nice tomorrow and I'll take one.
Size 565MXL: Taller than average with shorter than average legs 5'10" to 6'2" or modern sporty/racing type position (long top tube, short stem)

Thanks dan for posting up the links really appreciated.

Last chance before it goes on ebay this weekend, I'd accept £1,600 just not to have the ebay hassle.

Cheers

<shakes head> Em...I just can't believe it hasn't sold long since to the right-proportioned larger rider. Beautiful, lovely bike kitted out to the nth degree and flawlessly assembled by all indications.

Best of luck!

Dan.
