Good Quality Head Torches
«

When out riding at night I always wear a headtorch as well as the lights on the bike. I find it is usefull for a variety of uses:
Being able to see the bike speedo
Looking around while slogging up hills at slow speed.
Being able to catch motorists attetion by shinning it at them
If any during ride tinkering is required with the bike.
I have had Petzl Tikkina head torches for about 6 years and never had any of them fail (even with routine dropping) and think they are great value for money at about 15gbp.

Just thought I would see waht other people are using and how they find them

I have just recently upgraded from my old Princetontec headtorch to a
Black Mountain Storm
. Very surprised by the increased LED output, even with the two little LEDs. The main LED is awesome - good to light up the scenery 50-70m away. It also has a red LED setting. This is good for night spotting, but also good around the tent as it doesn't attract the insects.

That is a nice looking headtorch. I find the petzl's range drops off very quickly with battery life but would say even at its best has a usefull range of 30m
