I have just had occasion to return my 2008 s/hand RST's hub to SJS; (it had pissed all of it’s oil in a short space of time). I elected to get the seals and bearings repaced at the same time, for an inclusive cost of £140 inc. postage to me. I mentioned that I was not certain, but could sometimes detect the faintest of rattles in 7th and 8th gear when changing up.
SJS told me that Rohloff advised them to replace all internals free of charge, that I now have effectively, a new hub, ( same shell), which I would have to run in. SJS also replaced the internal gear wire as part of the service.
Fabulous service for which I am hugely grateful!
I can’t help but draw a parallel with Rolls Royce cars which officialy 'never' break down…….
