In Salt Lake City! That's pretty wild! I still have yet to see another Thorn out in the real world.

I saw a few in Iceland, but never in USA.  But I learned on Crazy Guy on a Bike a year ago that a couple people in my community of Madison WI bought Ravens, but I have not seen them.

Just once I saw a Raven in West Cork, no more than a 100 yards from my house. (Now there's rarity and snob value for you!) It belonged to a forum member, whom i haven't seen on the forum for years now.

Does seeing a tandem count as 2 points?
I met a couple on one a few years ago. Turned out that they lived 10 miles from my home.
Nice folks. Naturally!

...

A bike with two wheels is one point.  Sorry.

One-and-a-half points. You want the full two points, the tandem needs to be ridden by two nuns.

That reminded me of the time a few years ago, I was cycling along a bike path here in Aberdeenshire- , a disused railway track.
In the distance I could hear bagpipes.
The sound became louder until from around a corner a tandem cruised into view with the ' stoker' playing the pipes!
I rarely fall off my Raven but I certainly came close.

And you start wondering what's in that baggie of tea leaves your American cousins sent you when you were trying to stop smoking...

That gets you two full points, for sure.

One bagpipe player = Two nuns = Two points.

I've never even seen a tandem in West Cork, though it should be said that a tandem event hereabouts would almost certainly be tied to tourists passing through on the dangerous-to-lethal main roads -- blink and you miss them -- while the local cyclists know all the little stress-free lanes with tight turns where a tandem would be more of a menace than a pleasure.
