Budget original twister shifters upgrade
« on: May 23, 2018, 06:59:03 AM »
Hi guys, the dual sprocket project moves on slowly, I would like to pass on a quick and successful upgrade to the original twister shifter I found the original triangular grip too bulky and larger than my grip.
I couldnt justify £70 for newer shifter and the faff of installing new cables. I considered trimming it down. Instead I took a budget (x3 grip shifter) from the junk box, trimmed the left end flush an replaced the original Rohloff rubber grip. It now is less bulk and more comfortable. I used a little contact adhesive and it is a vast improvement.
I have lost the index  digits but I will add index marks later. I am just interested when I'm at the limits of the range. Maybe the new rohloff grip would fit, I don't have in to try.  Pictures to follow.
Cheers Ledburner.
