RIgida Andra 30 IDS
« on: December 01, 2017, 04:54:21 PM »
I recently bought a used Thorn Nomad with Rigida Andra 30 IDS rims.
Can anyone tell me how they differ from the Andra 30 CSS rims?
Thanks in advance for your help  :)

CSS is described at the bottom of the page at this link:
https://www.ryde.nl/technology

It is something added to the braking surface on the rim.

I am not familiar with IDS.

Yeah, I'm the same.
I know what CSS is but not IDS.

IDS is Internal Dimpling System, all Andra's have this, Ryde seem to remember to put the IDS sticker on about 10% of rims we get. Even the CSS are IDS.

INTERNAL DIMPLING (ID)
ID is a deep drilling into a reinforced nipple bed with a 90° angle for the nipple bed.The spoke holes are drilled under two angles, radial and axial for a better spoke nipple line. The V shape dimpling ads also more contact to the nipple and the  deformation of  the nipple is reduced. ID is a Ryde patented design
