Son dynamo wheel and Edelux headlight
« on: September 16, 2016, 03:14:02 PM »
Hardly used this wheel is a bargain.
Built with 14/15g DT Competition Stainless SILVER spokes
Regular retail price NEW £290

Hub:
Schmidt SON 28 Dynamo Front Hub - Red - 36 hole

SON 28 is a hub dynamo universally approved for all wheel sizes from 16" to 29". The rated output is achieved in the 700c (622)-wheel at approx. 16 km/h (SONdelux at 19 km/h). Thus, SON 28 is recommended if a lot of light is required at low speed or when either devices are to be operated or their batteries charged.

Rim:
Rigida Andra 30 26" , 559 MTB CSS Rim - Regular Drilling - Black - 36 Hole

Ultra hard wearing Carbide Super Sonic brake surface, allowing fantastic braking and wear characteristics. The carbide is projected at seven times the speed of sound on to the rim imbedding it into the alloy. Unlike a ceramic surface it cannot flake away as it is part of the rim (not a layer). Rim overall width of 24mm & inner well width 19mm.

New  Son Edelux 2  cost new £120

Details
With a brand-new IQ Tec P mirror from the specialists at Busch and Muller the new Edelux 2 leaves the older model literally in the shadows. The light field is twice as wide and focused mainly in the distance, putting most of the light further down the road allowing you to better assess whats coming, whilst still not leaving a 'dim' patch infront of the rider.

- 3 Watt high performance LED. 90 lux at 15kph
- Highly efficient by optimal cooling
- Watertight 6082 T6 aluminium housing
- Standlight & Senso
- Automatic light sensor
- Discreet rear light connection if required
- Light Includes: Stainless Fork Crown Bracket (23928), rear light cabling (15905), white reflector (23917)

Hi Bobs,

I'll be interested about your Son edelux lighting.

Do you sell it separately ?

If yes, how much does it cost ?

Thanks

Would rather sell both as a package but have someone who has first offer on the light if someone buys the hub on its own.

Do you mean, someone has already booked the edelux light only ? in the case where you don't sell the parts as a package

I was looking at your wheel on photobucket and looked to see if there was any more pics of it only to find some photos of you and Herr Rohloff, did you get the full tour?

P.S. I'm interested in your wheel but the CSS puts me off, living on the west coast of the Scottish highlands it rains a lot and I'm worried about the reports of poor braking in very wet conditions.

Macspud, I wouldn't be overly concerned with regards to the CSS rims. I live in North Wales which gets it's fair share of the wet stuff and have never had an issue as long as you scrub off a bit of speed before giving the levers the full squeeze. I've got 17k on mine with virtually no visible wear.

Neil

Ps I not on commission  :D
