I came across this write-up on Crazyguy...

Lovely read and the Thorn tandem seems in its element

I have hidden this epic from the wife....don't want her getting ideas for her retirement.

Jo Witney is having health problems and cannot ride much any more but they covered a lot of ground in their time.

Look out also for Alan and Wendy Baird who are still recording a lot of rides on Crazy Guy.

I wish we bought our tandem twenty years earlier!

Crikey !!

31 days to ride from Darwin to Adelaide? Into the headwinds for much of it no doubt! That is a bit of an express ride. Shame to miss out on so much of the scenery and sights along the way. We took about 30 days to ride just from Adelaide to Oodnadatta, but we did ride the circuitous, but very scenic and traffic-free, Mawson Trail, then the gravel Oodnadatta Track through the desert.

The Stuart Hwy has little appeal for me - ride it if I have to, but it's just another sealed main highway.

[edit] Hang on.....

I KNOW that guy!! Rob O'Meara; a fellow club member and touring companion on a few long tours :o
