Looking at those rides and the accompanying come-hither photographs, I was reminded of my previous dentist, since retired, going on about the outrageous behaviour of the Japanese who came to play golf at the local club. They held up every other four by having their wives take photographs and videos of every single stroke, and would take the stroke repeatedly if the photograph wasn't acceptable. Apparently country clubs are so expensive in Japan, people normally thought of as well-off could never hope to belong to one, so the Japanese save up for the one golfing holiday of a lifetime. And of course photograph it exhaustively.

I'm almost sorry The Guardian, a paper with known poor judgement, publicized those rides, because shortly they'll be overrun by people making their once-in-a-lifetime tour, and the good people (us) won't be able to get a look in.

The same publishing company also sell a book detailing places one can indulge in wild swimming. Recognising the low-hanging fruit I'll leave it for someone else to pick  ;D

??  One needs a book for that?  Come to Ontario and stick a pin in a map--we have 400,000 lakes, say the travel guides.  No crocs, no hippos, no bilharzia, though you do need to be a bit choosy about the season & the bugs :-)

Fond memories of skinny dipping in Scotland 2 summers ago.
Yes, it really can get hot up here.
Is skinny dipping the same as wild swimming?
I just floated about on my back for a while and the got the soap out.
Never drink and drive. You may hit a bump  and spill your drink

Got the book yesterday.....some nice routes and I will hopefully link a few up (they are round robin routes). Looking at them there is a good north to south run that appears to take in some quieter areas.

I know some of it from the motorcycling days but I haven't really used Wales that much. I feel a train trip and wander back coming on....
