Here's a new (to me) internal gear box - the Effigear 9 speed 444%:
https://www.effigear.com/gearboxLooks like it's been around, or at least in development, for a few years. I came across it when looking at a gallery of images from the recent North American Handmade Bicycle Show -
https://newatlas.com/nahbs-2019-photo-gallery/58976/#gallery. It is very much like the Pinion box in concept and execution. One picture had a Nicolai full-suspension mountain bike that seemed to combine the Effigear box with a Rohloff - A bit of overkill I think.
Update: the picture in question actually shows a Bosch Electric motor at the BB, not an Effigear box - the caption is wrong. However it intrigued me enough to google 'Effigear'.
