Newcastle's Fernleigh Track

This really doesn't belong in the Cycle Tours section, so I thought I'd post it here.

This: http://thisbicyclelife.wordpress.com/2015/01/05/riding-the-fernleigh-track/comment-page-1/#comment-13 is a pretty good post regarding my favourite local ride. Early on a lovely summer's morning (like yesterday  :)), the track is quiet and still, except for the ringing of the bellbirds and the singing of the parrots, minahs and galahs. You can occasionally see wallabies, wombats, possums, goannas and yes, snakes! There is simply nothing more sublime than silently gliding through a natural reserve, all within a metro area of 500,000 people!

Should you ever find yourselves in our fair city, I insist you let me give you a guided tour, of which "the Fernleigh" will be a major attraction, including a short detour down to Redhead Surf Club for the beachside beverage of your choice.

Slammin!

What a wonderful place and most kind offer by yourself, Sammy!

All the best,

Dan. (...who is most impressed by both)
