Title: Audax Classic
Post by: Andybg on January 29, 2014, 06:25:31 pm
Waiting for the snow to clear before taking her out for a spin but here is my new Thorn Audax Classic.

She has been sat waiting for me to get round to bringing her online for the last 6 months. With the extremely inclement weather I have finaly got round to it.

She is running a 27 speed mixture of Ultegra and Dura Ace on Deore Hubs and Mavic MA2 rims, RX100 brakes, exage brake levers, Brooks B17 Narrow saddle, Cateye Strada slim computer and my all time favorite black insulation tape for bar tape.

Currently running 28 gatorskins but I may swap over to 32 Supremes as the 28s look very skinny after the 2" tyres on the Nomad. When I look at my old 19mm race tyres I really do have to think "did I really use to run on them?"

If only the snow would go.

Until then it can stay warm while the Nomad takes all the grief.

Oh, my...what a lovely bike, Andy! Lugs! Quill stem! A classic, indeed, and just aching for some road use. I do so hope the weather will soon clear enough for you to use in properly.

Goin' back for another look; what a beauty and a really nice build!

All the best,

Dan.

Beautiful bike Andy!

I think you'll get decades of pleasure with that bike.

They sure don't make 'em like they used to.   ;)
