Title: changed cables and gear question

I think I have changed my Rohloff cables back to front - gear 1 is hard to cycle and 14 is easy. Is this correct or should it be the other way around?

Yes, gear 1 is low for hills, gear 14 high for speed. Likely the cables are the wrong way round, check the bayonet connections by the hub are not crossed if you have that version.
