The electronics haven't been available on the consumer market because Shimano sees full-auto Di2, which also comes with electronic adaptive suspension, as a strictly OEM product.
Now Biomega has fitted the full auto Di2 control set with Alfine 8-speed box and Gates belt drive to one of their bikes, the NYC 8-SPEED ELECTRONIC, a bit pricey at Euro 1799 (Gazelle, the last time I looked a few years ago, sold their Di2 electronic 8-speed bike for under a thousand euro, with infinitely mroe equipment thrown into the price.)
It's not a touring bike, and not a utility bike -- a mate who's a jet jockey described his Biomega (an older Newsom design that was genuinely innovative but not very useful) as an "airfield bike", i.e. great for undemanding service. His has a Rohloff box... Still, you might like a posing bike just to get your hands on the automatic Alfine gubbins. Make sure you take a test ride before you splash out the cash, as these people take pride in not being bicycle designers, and that unbowed fork looks like RSI waiting to happen to your hands.

Biomega also promises an electronic 11 speed (hub gearbox) mode avalilable "soon"l. This would be close to an automatic Rohloff, though not as longlasting. Each extra gear will cost a 100 Euro extra.
