This is my Sherpa, there are many like it but this one is mine.

Wow And what a bike! The best machine I have ever ridden. Arrived just after lunch, had to have it delivered to my parents home, put it the van, shot of home, took some photos, see below, quickly fixed on the peddles, bottle cage, got changed and took the Sherpa for a spin. 22.66km in just over the hour .Its mainly flat where I live, but managed to get it up to 41.4 km/h with out much effort and handled the rough with the smooth.
A big big thank you to Steve at SJS a top man, for putting up with lots of emails and upgrades. 16 days from flash to bang, and three days from the call to say it was finished. That was the hardest part of the waiting.

Thinking of putting some hooks in the wall of the living room, to hang my new work of art. Got to wait for it get dark to see the lights work.
Time to go and clean up the zip ties and the blue packing!

A very nicely proportioned flat-barred Sherpa, in a favourite colour! In fact the matt finish looks splendid. The bars are at a very relaxed height without being too gawky to my eye. Nice

Defiantly anto, day rides only at the moment, which is a shame with all this good weather were having. All in good time, my riding style and fitness need a bit of work before loading it up and taking to the road. I will hopefully be riding every day now. To and fro, from my parents ( full time carer for my mum) and when the panniers arrive get some loaded ridding done with the shopping.

All congratulations, Andy, on a stunning new ride!
It looks the business...and then some!
Isn't new-bike ownership the greatest feeling?
All the best,
Dan.

It's a good feeling Dan. Finally a bike the works and is comfortable, and worth every penny.

Fan-bloody-tastic looking bike, Andy! It certainly will take you wherever you dream of going.
Enjoy! :D
PS - BTW, what tyres are you running?

Looks good, Andy, you will get good service from both the bike and sjsc, I am sure.
Bar end shifters as thumbies? Same set up as I have, I like

. . . got posted before I had finished!!
How do you find the thumbies?

i bet all you Rohloff boys are a tad jealous ;D ;D

Andy,
A cracking bike, satisfaction guaranteed... ;D ;D and not a tad jealous, but delighted for you knowing how good they are.

The tummies work very well Lewis, front mech changer was a bit strange with no clicks, the changes will get better with use. I used the big ring and only the first 3 sprockets on the Cassette for most of the ride this after noon. I was thinking that I had made a mistake with this choice but after my first ride I am pleased with the Ultra Wide Range Gearing , 48X36X26T and 11-36T Cassette . It is going to be ok for my daily commute to my mums and for the shopping. It's very flat out hear in Doncaster lewis and there are no Trams to contend with either.

It's so nice to read a pro derailleur opinion! It's true that I lust after a Thorn Mercury, but we shouldn't forget how good derailleur equipped bikes can be - especially when they're designed by Thorn!!
A good derailleur setup is the benchmark that hub gears have to aspire to beat!

That is one great looking Sherpa Andy, you can't beat that new bike feeling can you? I'm sure you'll have many a happy day pedalling that beauty.
Hey Jags! You are a terrible wind up merchant. ;D
Regards, Neil.

Doncaster, Andy?? Not far from me, then. I like the thumbies, mainly because my thumbs are no longer strong enough to change down (i.e. onto bigger cogs ) comfortably with the pushing motion usually required. I found I ended up using the 'heel' of my hand, and the thumbies suit much better.
My wife rows at Hexthorpe most Saturday mornings, we must meet up there sometime . . . . .

Thanks Lewis, that is kind of you to offer. Alas my time is not my own at the moment. Any rides I do will have to fit around my caring duties for mum and dad.

Congrats on a great purchase Andy. I got a Raven back in June, which apart from the gears is very similar to your Sherpa. Ok it's not a speed merchant, but it's easily the most comfortable bike I've ever ridden, and Bradley Wiggins I ain't.
sound like an ideal bike for you what with daily rides, shopping etc.

On closer inspection, a puncher repair! I find that my tyres are not Panaracer Pasela TG as I believed them to be but Panaracer Pasela PT. Is there there any grate derferance between them?
