Title: My new Nomad Mk2
Post by: ipswichcycler on August 23, 2014, 06:57:29 PM
Ive written a little ride report about my summer trip from Ipswich to Inverness and posted it up on a motorbike forum. You can read it here and see some pics if you like.

I was using Panaracer Pasela Tourguard 1.75" folding tyres but have just changed to these 2.25" Schwalbe Marathon Extreme.  I've bought some sks p65 but not fitted them yet.
You can click on the pic to see it larger.

For me i much prefer it to motorbike touring.  I like the physical challenge of bicycle touring and the fact you are fully immersed in the environment. Its sounds, sights, smells, the gradients, the weather and the people.  On a bicycle you also have an intimate relationship with the land you pass as you are in touch with it's every curve, slope and contour.  It's also quieter, cheaper, mechanically much simpler and more flexible.

Great looking Nomad and a wonderful tour too. Were the Panaracers up to the job?

Yes they did well on the road, on dry mud, gravel, forest tracks and even some cobbley tracks. No punctures either.  I think I just wanted to change as the marathon ex look so cool.

Yes yes yes!
What a fantastic looking bike.
Many congratulations.

I'm a Raven man myself but that Nomad looks a real cracker.
