So pleased and devoted to several RST frame :-* :-*
I am in the mood to set an Alfine wheel !
Question : on SJS this is the trend - DO you believe that the Alfine cable can be set via the TOP TUBE ?

kr,
I bought an alfine equipped RST and the cable did run under the top tube. I think they had used the nearside cable run leaving the middle empty, if I recall correctly.

I have an Alfine on an On-one Inbred with the cabling under the top tube and then down the seat stay. So it'll work on an RST. I had to change the washers on the hub to rotate the cable entry so it lines up with the seat stay. The default washers line the cable entry along the chain stay. I assume you don't want to do that?
Not difficult - just a bit confusing to start with.

If you run a green tab washer on the drive side and a blue one on the non drive side it aims the cable up the seat stay so that it can use the top tube guides. We just add a thin cable tie next to the rear brake boss to make sure it doesn't catch/rub the tyre.
Hope this helps, Dave.
