What gear system is this? I have searched for "Poleoff gear system" and just found links to yachting spinnaker pole systems. Other spelling variants gave nothing. Did you perhaps mean the Pinion system? Her trike does not seem to have this BB-mounted gear system though.

I believe it was a little humor, Pete (South Pole gearing system, aka "Poleoff").
