Hi All,
Well today thanks to Chris @ puresports.co.nz can a little Xmas Parcel ;D
One new Rohloff Shifter, I have fitted it and it is waiting for me to Test ride to work in the morning.
I have to thank Chris because I ordered it a few months ago and had no idea about it coming :o apart from a phone call from Chris about my address last week.

Ooh, very nice, Pete! Looks good, and I like the "swirl" pattern of the grip-ribs.
Glad you like it. How does it compare to the standard model it replaced? How might it compare in feel to the old triangular shifter?
Does the material feel any different?
Thanks for sharing; helps to see it on a bike.
Best,
Dan.

I love that raven for a marker. Especially on a Thorn Raven...

Hi Andre Jute,
The Raven as marker is not new (over 18 months old) but nice.
The only part new is the Grip part of the shifter, so far its great :) will have to wait until I ride in the rain again....... :-*

I might have to pick up one of those. The current shifter drives me crazy when it's hot, humid or just soaking wet out and I'm trying to change gear. My hand just doesn't grip. I'm sure wearing gloves would help with that but I don't ride with them.

onebikeoneworld, I am so glad to see you write this as I thought I was the only one with this problem - Pete's new shifter looks like it would alleviate this problem.

Tony and Oneone do you speak of the round shifter or the old "triangular" one. I find the original triangular one much better in this respect.

Hi Ian I did too until the new shifter grip!
My new shifter grip came as just a grip to fit on my new shifter.
Chris from Puresports send it to me so he has a few.
Love it

It's a round one, put on by SJS when I took the bike in for a service back in April.

Ian, I have the round one ... but I am visiting the NZ Rohloff agent tomorrow, so I might check out the new one, although I must say the round twist grip isn't a deal breaker for me. And besides, as my Nomad is only a month old, I keep it inside when it rains and go hiking instead!

As a cheap bodge, try wrapping a couple of turns of black cloth handlebar tape around the shifter rubber. Works wonders, but looks awful, on shiny alloy Berthoud shifters, so it should work on the others.
Happy days
Ian
